• Eligible with Doctor’s Prescription or Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN):
  • Must state the product is medically necessary to treat a specific diagnosed condition.
  • Prescription/LMN must be dated before or on the date of purchase.
  • Documentation must include:
    • Patient’s full name
    • Diagnosed condition
    • Equipment prescribed (e.g., “adjustable base,” “massage chair,” “zero gravity recliner”)
    • Physician’s signature & date

?️ Massage Chairs

• Eligible with LMN for conditions such as:
  • Chronic back or neck pain
  • Arthritis
  • Neuropathy or circulation disorders
  • Without prescription = not eligible.

• TIP: Customers often pay with personal funds, then submit receipt + LMN to their HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement.

?️ Adjustable Smart Beds

• Eligible with LMN for conditions such as:
  • Sleep apnea or GERD/acid reflux (head elevation improves breathing & digestion)
  • Poor circulation or edema (leg elevation)
  • Chronic back pain
  • The adjustable base can qualify.
  • Mattresses, linens, pillows, and accessories are usually taxable and not HSA-eligible unless separately prescribed.

? Zero Gravity Recliners

• Eligible with LMN for conditions such as:
  • Circulatory issues, swelling, edema
  • Spinal decompression / back pain relief
  • Without medical documentation = not eligible.

? Important Notes

• Keep Documentation: Customers must retain the LMN and receipt for their records and/or submit to their HSA/FSA plan administrator.
• IRS Publication 502 is the governing guideline for qualified medical expenses.
• Plan Administrators Have Final Say: Customers should confirm coverage directly with their HSA/FSA administrator.
• Not automatically eligible – these items are considered “general wellness” by default.
